Credit Passes vs Monthly Memberships: Which Is Right for Your Studio?

One of the first decisions you'll make when setting up your studio's payment model: do you sell credit packs, monthly memberships, or both?

What's a credit pass?

A prepaid bundle: a member buys 5, 10, or 20 classes upfront. Low commitment for new members, but lumpy revenue for you.

Best for: Workshop-heavy studios, seasonal attendance, studios where members attend 1-2x per week.

What's a monthly membership?

A recurring subscription with automatic renewal. Predictable revenue, but higher initial commitment.

Best for: Studios with regulars attending 3+ times per week.

The hybrid model (recommended)

Offer both:
- Monthly unlimited for regulars (€69-99/month)
- 10-class pack for semi-regulars (€65-85)
- Single drop-in for newcomers (€12-18)

This creates a natural upgrade path: try → commit → convert.

Price it right

The membership must be the best deal for frequent attendees. Never price credit packs cheaper per class than the membership.
